Arkansas USSSA State Rules/Guidelines
HOW DO I MANAGE MY TEAMS ROSTER?
: Coaches/ Team admins must be logged in to access their team account. From there select your current team. From there you will find tabs labeled “Manage roster” and “Manage guest players”
These 2 tabs will have everything needed for the admin to manage permanent players and guest players. ALL teams must have a minimum of (9) players to participate in any USSSA event in Arkansas. NO EXCEPTIONS.
ROSTER PROTESTS
: ALL roster protests must take place before the first pitch of the 3rd inning. Roster protests must be made by the HEAD COACH ONLY and submitted to the Tournament Director with $100 cash at the time of the protest. All protests lost will result in the loss of the $100. All protests won will result in the $100 being refunded back to the head coach. Each protest will be ruled upon on a case by case basis with the State Director and National Office. Play will stop until an official ruling is made. NO GAMES will be played under protest. Official rulings will be made from the State Director and/or National office. All official rulings made will be final.
COACH EJECTIONS
All coaches that have been ejected from any USSSA sanctioned tournament within the state of Arkansas are required to serve a mandatory (1) game suspension before they are allowed to coach in ANY USSSA SANCTIONED GAME, regardless if they are coaching a sister team, etc. The suspension will not be considered as served until the team that the ejection occurred in has completed a minimum of 1 game following the ejection. Failure to adhere to this rule can result in further disciplinary actions leading up to an indefinite suspension from ALL USSSA sanctioned events.
DOES MY TEAM HAVE TO HAVE INSURANCE TO PLAY IN USSSA EVENTS?
: Yes, ALL teams must have a current team insurance policy equal to the USSSA insurance policies in order to participate in any USSSA sanctioned event. To purchase USSSA insurance please log into your team account, select your current 2020 team and then click on the purchase insurance tab. Once purchased the policy will automatically link to your team where it will be viewable to all tournament directors and printable also.
MY TEAM WITHDRAWS FROM AN EVENT AFTER BRACKETS ARE POSTED.
: ANY team that withdraws from an event after the brackets have been released will be required to pay the full amount of the event entry fee. Failure to pay the entry fee in a timely manner will result in the coach and all players being suspended until that entry fee is paid in full. Tournament Directors may make exceptions on a case by case basis and only to their discretion. ALL USSSA State and National events will reserve a 10 day window for refunds. If a team withdraws for any reason inside of the 10 day window, NO refunds will be awarded. Credit towards Future State and National events may be considered and only on a case by case basis.
ARKANSAS USSSA TOURNAMENT REFUND POLICY.
Once an event has started and then cancelled due to rain, lightning or any other reason out of the control of the event director the following guidelines will be in place. The tournament director has the ability to modify these guidelines on a case by case basis. All monies not refunded as part of these guidelines can and should be credited to future events for each individual tournament company.
: 0 games played= full refund (minus 20% administration fee) This fee helps offset the pre tournament costs associated with the event.
: 1 game played= 50% refund
: 2 or more games played= no refund
HOW MANY PLAYERS CAN I HAVE ON MY USSSA ROSTER?
: Currently the USSSA roster system will allow up to 19 players on a team’s roster. USA Elite Select rosters have no roster cap.

WHY CAN I NOT CLASS MY TEAM “C” OR “REC” WHEN REGISTERING WITH USSSA?
:ALL teams that register with USSSA do not have the option to select “C” or “REC” when registering online per National office rules and regulations. Teams must select either A or B. Teams wishing to be re-classed to C must submit a formal request via email to the State office to be moved to C. ALL teams are monitored on a weekly basis and moved up and down accordingly.
WHAT ARE THE GUIDELINES USED WHEN TEAMS ARE RE-CLASSED?
: The USSSA website and director networks provide a platform that allows us to be the leader in this area. Teams are monitored on a weekly basis and moved up and down based on several parameters. Below are basic guidelines from the website data. A minimum of 5-7 games played must be met.
C to B

The formula was designed in 1998. The system was designed to Rank teams (of the same class) that have not played the same number of games.

Can my teams power rating change even if my team is not active?
Yes, anytime results are entered for any team you have faced,
(in your class) your teams power rating will change.
WHAT IS THE USA ELITE SELECT PROGRAM?
USA Elite Select is the elite division of USSSA Fastpitch. It is a national program that includes elite level events for teams and individual athletes. This program is reserved for the top teams and athletes playing within USSSA Fastpitch as well as the goal of aspiring teams and athletes who want to progress to the elite level.
USA Elite Select events will provide a pathway for teams and individuals to reach our National elite level events including the World Fastpitch Championship, Summer Nationals, and Select 30 National Training Camp. This national program helps fulfill USSSA Fastpitch’s goal of providing all fastpitch players with a place to play and this national program enhances our local programs by offering teams and athletes greater variations in levels of play.
DOES MY TEAM HAVE TO QUALIFY TO PLAY IN USSSA WORLD SERIES OR NATIONAL EVENTS?
Yes, Per USSSA National rules all teams that are classed “A” are encouraged to but are not required to compete in their areas State Tournament. All teams classed “B” or lower must compete in their areas State Tournament. Case by case exceptions may be made by the State office and are limited to recruiting opportunities for teams/players and/or the lack of their state hosting a State event. C & REC and open A/B Fall and Spring State Tournaments are all World Series and Nationals Qualifiers for Arkansas.
DOES MY TEAM HAVE TO QUALIFY TO COMPETE IN STATE EVENTS?
Yes, all travel teams must have competed in at least (3) USSSA SQ event in the last 12 months to be eligible to compete in the Arkansas State Tournaments. All Recreation teams are only required to provide their roster or affidavit from the rec league the team participated in for that current season. Exceptions can be made on a case by case basis and only from the State Director.
